Audio-only, made for ears and imaginations
How Totchi works: press play, and feelings find their words
Totchi is a world of engaging audio adventures that help children aged 3 to 11 understand their world and their feelings. Through repeated characters we explore life events, feelings, or being wonderfully different. A gentle adventure carries them through. And, in listening, we learn something about ourselves.
Stories run 8 to 15 minutes
Made for ages 3 to 11
Shaped with therapists and child psychologists
Fresh stories added every month
Three steps
Three steps. That's the whole recipe.
Totchi slots into life exactly as it already is. Open it, press play, and you're already doing it beautifully. There's a right level for every child, and a good choice at every turn.
01
Choose a story
Open the Totchi app and wander the library. Stories are sorted by theme and age, so you can find exactly what fits the moment. A wobble about starting school? There's a story for that. A big, stormy temper? There's one for that too. Or pick one simply because it sounds fun. Every choice here is a good one.
Little note: you can choose together, or hand the reins to your child. Explaining why is entirely optional.
02
Press play and listen
Then, well, that's the tricky part over. Press play, and the story takes it from here. Feelings arrive gently, tucked inside the adventure and carried by a calm voice that's in no rush at all. Children can listen snuggled up with you at bedtime, curled up on their own in a quiet corner, or in the back of the car on a rainy Tuesday. Whenever feels right is right.
Little note: lots of children love listening with headphones. It becomes a small, private world that's all their own.
03
Let the conversation happen
Here's the happy surprise: the conversation tends to start itself. Once the story ends, children often bring it to you all on their own, at breakfast, on the school run, or the very second the last word fades. They've got the words now. They found them in the story. Every episode closes with a gentle prompt, a little question to carry along and share whenever they're ready.
Little note: if your child stays quiet at first, that's perfectly normal, and the story is still quietly working.
Every story is made with real care (and real experts)
Totchi stories are far more than background noise. Every episode is written and reviewed by child psychologists, children's mental health advocates, and therapists, all working together. Each one is built around a specific emotional learning goal, then wrapped so warmly in adventure that children simply feel entertained.

The thinking behind it
Why audio? Why stories? Why this way?
Stories make it safe to feel
When a child hears a character feel worried, they get to feel it from a cosy distance, through someone else. It's safe, and it's freeing. This is bibliotherapy, an approach child psychologists have trusted for decades.
Audio opens the door to every child
Audio meets children exactly where they are. It reaches every stage and every kind of learner, including children with dyslexia, ADHD, autism or processing differences. Listening is the most natural thing in the world, and young imaginations do the rest.
Naming feelings changes everything
Children who can name what they feel are far better at handling it. Emotional literacy research is clear on this. Totchi hands children the words gently, through story, and they pick them up as they go.
Repetition builds resilience
Emotional strength grows over time, through gentle, repeated visits to the same feelings in a safe place. The more children listen, the more fluent they become in understanding and sharing how they feel.
Who Totchi works for
Made for all children. Every single one.
Totchi was built for every child, not one particular kind. Our mission is a simple one: to give every child the words to understand themselves, long before feelings ever grow too big to hold.
Children who are thriving
Optimism, resilience and emotional literacy are life skills, not a rescue mission. Children who are already flying benefit just as much, stacking up vocabulary, confidence and resilience for whenever they might need it.
Children waiting for support
For families on CAMHS waiting lists, or finding their way through a diagnosis, Totchi is something warm and real you can do right now, tonight, at home. It sits happily alongside professional support, ready whenever you are.
Children with a neurodiverse friend or sibling
Brothers and sisters often carry quiet feelings of their own. Totchi makes room for every child in the family, so everyone gets a turn and everyone feels seen.
Neurodiverse children
Totchi was designed with neurodiverse children close to heart. Audio-first stories, gentle pacing and familiar characters make it a calm, welcoming space for children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and sensory sensitivities.
Children who are finding things hard
Whether a child feels anxious, angry, quiet, or is reaching for words that keep slipping away, Totchi meets them right where they are. Everyone is welcome, exactly as they are.
What do you need? Less than you think.
Getting started is wonderfully simple
What you'll need
- A phone, tablet or computer
- The Totchi app (iOS or Android) or a web browser
- Headphones or a speaker, if your child likes their own little world (optional, often a favourite)
- Eight to fifteen minutes
- And that, honestly, is the whole list
The best part?
That really is everything. Totchi handles the rest, from the psychology to the storytelling to the gentle prompt at the end. You're free to snuggle up and listen along, or wave your child off on the adventure solo. Both are perfect, and both count.
How it works
How it works in schools and workplaces
For schools
In schools, Totchi fits naturally into PSHE lessons, circle time, morning registration, or a calm settling moment. The planning is already done for you. School licences come with a teacher resource hub full of discussion guides and PSHE mapping, plus home-listening codes for every family, so the magic carries on past the school gates.
For employers
Businesses offer Totchi as a family-friendly employee benefit. Employees get an access code, set up their own account, and their children can be listening that very evening. Setup is instant, admin stays light, and privacy sits firmly with the family. It's a benefit that reaches the people your team love most: the families they go home to.

What people say
In their own words
We believe in listening to children, really listening. Here's what happens when they feel heard.
"We use it in our Year 1 class every Friday morning. The change in how the children talk to each other about feelings, in just one term, has been noticeable to every member of staff."
"I was honest with myself. I bought it because I didn't know what else to do. My daughter was struggling and I felt helpless. Totchi gave both of us something to hold onto."
"It sounds simple, and it is. That's the point. Press play, listen, talk. Our children have plenty going on already. What they want more of is calm."
"I didn't expect it to work as quickly as it did. Within three sessions my son was using words like overwhelmed and frustrated in the right context. I was stunned."
